Dear Mayson,
Happy Birthday, I think half a year is a great milestone! I told you all of this today, but I thought I would write it on your blog in case you don't remember. I love it when you smile and giggle and squeal in happiness, especially when we sing the Hokey Pokey or Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. I love it when people smile at you on the street and you smile back. I love it when we go for walks and you look all around at all the houses and flowers and trees. I love it when you stand up on your legs and bounce up and down. I love when you touch your toes when I am trying to change your diaper. I love when we try to feed you and you grab the spoon and sometimes the whole bowl to stick in your mouth. It's wonderful when you try to take big bites and your rice cereal and plums end up everywhere but your mouth. My favorite thing is when I pick you up and you cuddle against my shoulder. Or when I go into your room in the morning and you give me a big smile. You talk all the time, and I love that when you wake up, you don't cry, but rather chat with yourself for a while. I'm not sure if you mean it yet, but I love it when you talk and say "maaa, maaaa, maaa." People stop me all the time and tell me what a beautiful, happy girl you are. How expressive and wide-eyed you are. You are taking it all in with smiles. Happy 6th month birthday.
Amy came over the other day to take pictures of Mayson. I can't stop looking at them, she did an amazing job. Here are a few of my favorites:

Finding My Style
So while Keri was buying Mayson her Converse shoes, I was across the mall buying her a tutu. Really, I just got it for the photo opps, I promise. And then, Mara sent Mayson a wonderful present--A kimono! Thank you, Mara, we love it! I'm sure the kimono and tutu will be showing up in the blog for many months to come :)
Naked
Everyone has to have embarrasing baby pictures, right? Because of the spit up, mentioned below, sometimes naked is easier! Plus it makes it easier to touch her toes and pee on dad!
Adventures in Eating
If you have been around Mayson you know she is the queen of spit-up! Our doctor recommended to increase the solids to help her keep everything down. Well, I'm not so sure it works, but Mayson has tried some fun new foods and has had fun grabbing on to her bowl and spoon to try to feed herself. She makes a mess and has a great time. So far, she has tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and baby oatmeal.
First Mother's Day
We had our first Mother's Day together and celebrated by going out to a lovely breakfast and shopping trip. Mayson was all smiles and even got her first pair of Converse out of the deal.
5 Months Old
Mayson has been hitting some great milestones this month! She has made friends at daycare and loves Angie, her daycare provider and friends Reese, Brady, and Noah! She got her first cold, has started eating solids regularly, and is getting closer to sitting up. She still loves to talk, giggles all the time, and puts everything in her mouth. She bounces in her Johnny Jump-up and has visited the swings in the park. Thankfully she is sleeping through the night and is doing great napping during the day. She is looking at everything, and Buddy and MoMo are delighted she likes to watch them and reach to pet them.
