As March is coming to an end, we needed to report Mayson's latest happenings at her 16 month milestone. She is still very excited about building her block towers and lego masterpieces, and her work is getting more and more complex. We're thinking she may take after cousin Mara and will want to be an architect. Or Dad the engineer. We are winning the war on vegetables, and she will eat them if disguised with cheese. Also, she likes getting up in her chair on her own and is enamored with the computer. She is having a bit of an addiction to YouTube videos. She is always trying to get the computer to turn on and play her favorites. She is still walking by holding on to our hands, but at least she can do it with just one hand now. Also, Mayson went over to Noah's house and had a pre-Easter egg hunt (her first ever)! She loved shaking the eggs to see what was inside. We're off for Spring Break now, so we'll be excited to post some pictures from our trips to Seabrook and Juneau soon!

Blue Dog
Mayson loves music. At Target, Keri and I couldn't resist the blue dog guitar. I think we may like it more than Mayson does, although she pushes the buttons and strums on the guitar strings very well. She (and us) dance to the pre-set songs that are classics like Stairway to Heaven with the words changed to fit the dog theme. Think "Mary had a little lamb," changed to "Danny had a yappy dog." Just like a dog, Mayson likes to bite it too.
March Madness
Our busy Bea has been staying very active. She tried pigtails for the first time, is doing great playing soccer and throwing her ball, loves combing through the book shelf, and has been doing an amazing job learning to play by herself. She sat for over a half hour working with her legos without us,building things and making a tower.

Busy March Weekend
First on Saturday, we started off with a concert to see Casper Babypants, Mayson's favorite singer! It was super crowded, so we made sure to at least hear her favorite song, "Mr. Rabbit," before we left. (She dances to the video on You Tube every day). Then we had a lunch and play date with Joey and Hope. We grabbed some pizza and fro-yo and went to Greenlake to play. Joey and Hope wore Mayson out, so she had a fantastic nap afterwards! We did get a little downtime in and some walking practice, and then went to the Seattle Aquarium for the first time on Sunday. They had an amazing octopus, and Mayson got to touch the starfish in the pool. She crawled and walked all over the place! She is currently having another marathon nap after such a fun weekend playing!
15 Months Old
Mayson just had her 15 month check-up (and was not pleased with Dr. Szalay or the shots). She is 31 inches tall (76th percentile) and 24 lbs (70th percentile), so she is a big, healthy girl! She is still working on walking, and tells us where she wants to go. She holds on to our hands but then she sidesteps, backs up, and moves in the direction she wants. She loves stairs. She is very determined, and we're in trouble when she starts walking on her own! But she is also super goofy, smiley, and sweet. She loves her new, giant frog, has fun chasing and petting Mo Mo, and her favorite past time is still reading. Mayson has decided her bottle isn't all that wonderful, and is enjoying her independence with her sippy cup instead. Her favorite afternoon snack is a cereal bar and some milk, and she still loves cheese! She just got her first "official" walking shoes during a shopping outing to Nordstrom (silver with some sparkle bling) and we celebrated with a balloon and latte afterwards.
