Big Sister To Be

Mayson is getting ready to be a big sister!  Joey and Hope and Jenny came over today to help us celebrate her brother's upcoming arrival.  They gave her some pep talks about having a sibling and we went out to a fun lunch together.  The countdown begins!

We had a great morning hitting a Casper Babypants show in Seattle.  We haven't seen him in a while and it was super fun.  We remembered all the songs (Mayson has them memorized from listening to Pandora in the car), so she sang along and danced.  She's got some good moves. 

Mayson's 2 Year Photo Shoot

Amy came over and helped us get some 2 year-old Mayson pictures.  We tried to get some where she was looking at Mama's huge belly in anticipation of the arrival of her baby brother, but I don't think she was super interested.  My stomach is so huge I think it might scare her!  But a big thank you to Amy for taking great pics!

Monkey Slippers

This video is from December, but I've been meaning to post it.  One of my students at school brought us a present for Mayson's little brother that included some monkey slippers.  Well, Mayson loved them immediately and claimed them on the way home. 

Fun January Weekends

We haven't posted in a while, but we've been having lots of fun! Last weekend, we were invited to Jump Planet and Mayson had the time of her life bouncing with Keri. I don't think I've ever seen her have that much fun! She climbed up the bouncy toy stairs and flew down all the slides, and tried every bouncy house there. We had another fun weekend before that with a visit to the book store where she got her favorite Pete the Cat book.

 

 

Christmas Break and New Year

Happy New Year to everyone!  Our Christmas break is now officially over and we are back to work and Angie's. The rest of our vacation had its ups and downs...First, we wanted Mayson to be able to open presents on Christmas day so we attempted stockings for the first time.  As Katie pointed out, we weren't supposed to do big presents with stockings, so we were a bit challenged there, but I think we started a new tradition by tying presents to the stockings!  Unfortunately, Mayson got sick the day after Christmas, so she had a tough week of coughing and not sleeping very well.  Our weather was less than pleasant, but we did get out for a little rain-free bike ride on Christmas day.  We enjoyed dropping in on Marni and her family, and Mayson had some fun Grandma and Grandpa time while we had a night away.  We joined Sara and her family in Portland to welcome in the New Year.  Sara had a great idea of celebrating East Coast style and welcoming in 2013 with the New York festivities at 9:00 Pacific time!   Definitely look for pictures in a much warmer location next December break!
