Halloween Chicken
Mayson's first Halloween was a success! She was a nice, plump chicken (courtesy of Shawna). We did some pictures the day before and had grandma and grandpa come over. Tonight we had fun visiting a few neighbors to trick or treat. Mayson wasn't too excited about the candy, which was too bad because Keri thought we were going to score some good treats. But when the neighbors urged her to grab some candy from their bowl, she didn't take anything. We got a few snickers, visited Marni down the street, and called it good. We're hoping she is more aggressive next year so we can get a better haul! This was the best I could do narrowing down the pictures...
Fall Saturday at the Zoo
It was an unexpectedly beautiful fall day, perfect for a trip to the zoo! We saw an amazing jaguar, lions, and orangutans up close. Mayson had fun playing in the fallen leaves and squirming around as we tried to carry her. She's a wiggle queen.

11 Months Old
Mayson is 11 months old today! Happy Birthday! She is such a character and so fun to be around. Her smile lights up everyone's day. This weekend her new thing was to practice her favorite new word, "hi." She has said "Ma Ma" and "Da Da." We have heard reports from day care that she said, "dog" the other day. But "hi" has been the new consistent winner. Now, whenever I put her in the car seat, she looks at the mirror on the back of the seat and tells herself, "hi" every time. She is also great at waving "bye bye," and doing high-fives. Her scooting has become a crawl (except when she is in a hurry and she knows her scoot will get her there faster). She is doing great at sitting up by herself and pulling herself up on things. We get lots of comments from strangers about her beautiful big smile! Here's some new "big girl" 11 month pics of her helping dad put up the safety gate, visiting the park, and looking at the trees in the arboretum.

Pumpkin Patch
I've been so excited to take Mayson to a pumpkin patch, I could hardly wait! Keri, Mayson, and I had a wonderful fall morning out at Fall City Farms today. We saw goats, chickens, hale bales, cider presses, and of course, lots of pumpkins. Mayson wasn't in true form today since she is battling a pretty intense cold, but I think she still had a good time! We might just have to go back again next weekend.

10 Months Old
Wow, we're ticking off the months and the milestones. Mayson turned 10 months old and has been so much fun! After her two bottom teeth came in at 9 months, her mouth exploded in the last two weeks and brought in 4 brand new teeth across the top. She was a champ, and it didn't even phase her. We didn't even know until after they were in, and we turned her upside down and saw them (oh yeah, and when I put my finger in her mouth to fish out some playground bark, I definitely felt it when she chomped down). She's still scooting and partially crawling all over the place. It has finally gotten to the point where we can't leave her alone in the room for a minute because she'll dash off somewhere when we turn our back. She has also learned to wave "bye-bye," and clap her hands...very cute. She also likes to scream for fun, which Keri has been enjoying prompting her to do when we are in public.
It's Officially Fall
The warm summer days have definitely turned to cool, crisp autumn. Mayson suited up and enjoyed a day at the park, testing out her new crawling legs and vest, while watching the big kids run around.
